Parks and Recreation
The City’s Parks and Recreation Department consists of three full-time positions – the Director, the Office Assistant and the Maintenance Supervisor. The department also has seven permanent part-time positions. The department is responsible for a variety of activities including but not limited to the following:
Summer Day Camp registration begins Monday, May 3, 2010. The camp will begin on Monday, June 14th and conclude Friday, August 13th. (Camp will not be in session July 5th - July 9th.) The cost of the camp is $60.00 per week and will operate Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. To register or for further information contact Parks and Recreation at 895-6810.
Summer Swimming Lessons 2010 Summer Swimming Lessons registration begins Monday, May 3rd. The lessons will be divided into two sessions as follows: 1st Session - Monday, June 14th Friday, June 25th 2nd Session - Monday, July 5th Friday, July 26th Age groups 4, 5 & 6 year olds, 7, 8 & 9 year olds and 10 year olds and above will be held at different times. The cost of the lessons is $40.00 per session. Call Parks and Recreation for more details 895-6810.
Rockingham Parks and Recreation LIFEGUARD TRAINING Parks and Recreation will conduct a Red Cross Certified Lifeguard Training Course -Tuesday, May 11th - Thursday, May 20th at Browder Park Recreation Center. Registration is limited and must be completed by Thursday, May 6th. Wednesday, May 19th will be for CPR Renewal Only. Contact Parks and Recreation at 895-6810.
